Our hobbies usually involve the great outdoors; hiking, camping and fishing but we also enjoy a big puppy pile for a movie and popcorn night.

About The "F"
Labradoodle Generations
What is the “F” all about?
Labradoodle generations are categorized with a capital “F” followed by a number and possibly a “b”. There are no guarantees regarding coat type or shed amount but understanding the generations can help with choosing which litter you want to get a puppy from. There are many coat variations such as hair, fleece and wool that can present as smooth, shaggy, wiry or curly. Typically, the higher the number of the generation the less the puppy will shed and the more grooming that will be required.
- F1 is the first generation of a cross between a Labrador Retriever and a Poodle.
- 50% Labrador, 50% Poodle
- The coat of these puppies will range between; smooth, wiry & shaggy. Their coats will probably shed but require less grooming than a higher generation and many do not require haircuts. They are described as having a hybrid vigor.
- F1b is a cross between an F1 and a Poodle. The “b” means backcrossing, usually bred back to a poodle.
- 25% Labrador, 75% Poodle
- The coat of these puppies will range between; shaggy hair, fleece or wool. The fleece and wool coats will require occasional cuts and the hair coats may shed minimally.
- F2 is the second generation. It can be a cross between F1 x F1, or F1 x F2, or F1 x F3, F1 x F1b, F1 x F2b, F1b x F1b etc.
- The puppy generation only moves up one place from the earliest generation parent. The percentage of Labrador vs Poodle will depend on the parental cross. The coats of the puppies in one of these litters will be more consistent throughout the litter.
- F2b is a cross between an F2 and a Poodle. The puppies will typically have a loose curl or very curly fleece or wool coats.
- F3 or Multigen is a cross between F2’s such as; F2 x F2, or F2 x F2b, F2 x F3 etc.

A strong beautiful girl with the softest ears. She got to enjoy her last few months in the warm BC climate.
If a dog has nine lives Java used hers up & then some. Though she encountered many health emergencies in her 12 years, she always came through wagging her tail. Java displayed a new vigor for life with every new dog we brought home.
She got a fabulous retirement tour; journey through the mountains, whole bed to herself, pictures with some mountain sheep & road side attractions, visit with Grandma & Grandpa, Cam & Twylla. Even though it was so cold to return to Saskatoon she was very happy to come home to her acreage & Phillip.
Thank you Java for coming into our lives. Thank you for your patience, raising 4 kids, pulling them on a sleigh, fetching, swimming, fishing, hiking, rough housing, cuddling. We will all miss you.
